Mounds of Dirt

Here’s my first blog on Watercolor Ponies! I have another blog on our website that is password protected, but I am really excited now to have one that I can share without having to hand out user names and passwords. This does NOT mean that you can stop checking the website, however. I am still working on that and will put pics and some of the deeper thoughts on there rather than here.

Tonight was everything that summer nights should be about. The building has begun in the housing lots behind our house and we took full advantage of that. I figure the 8 hours everyday that I have to listen to the “Scoop” truck is the price that I pay for an evening full of climbing mounds of dirt and throwing rocks. The kids had a blast and even Emmy was able to make her way up and down the hills.

They were very careful with their rock throwing to throw in a different direction from where the siblings were standing. They had a ball and were filthy, dirty messes by the time we called them in. For 2 1/2 hrs Brenden and I got to sit and talk, visit with our neighbors, and enjoy the evening air while the kids fully entertain themselves, coming back only to show off a cool rock grab a cookie from Mr. Dusty, our neighbor. It was a good night…the kind of night that childhood memories should be full of.
